Being poor isn’t as bad as everybody claims. This is what Marcus thought as he shoved the rest of his chips to the center of the table.

He’d been poor before. And six months ago he’d been relatively pretty rich.

Most people needed something steady. Marcus preferred the ups and downs. Greed got a bad rap too, thought Marcus.

“Content in all circumstances,” he said and gave the dealer a nod. “Isn’t that what Saint Paul said?”

Marcus knew that pre-packaged noodles would soon be in his life again.

And he was okay with that.
