I wrote down my greatest fear.
In between the peas and the pork.
My grocery list seemed as good a place as any.
They said be vulnerable.
A curly haired cashier got a glance inside my soul.
He asked if I was okay.
“Credit,” I said.
“Paper?” I said.

are you okay?
no, and you’re the only one who knows.
shh.
i can’t be vulnerable any more.
let me rest inside.
