CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS NOT WELCOME HERE
I read the sign in disbelief.
A deacon approached. “What’re you looking at son?” he asked, his smile friendly.
“Does that sign really say that?”
“Why yes, yes it does.” The deacon read the sign aloud and looked down at me. “Most cults thrive on secrecy but we believe transparency is the foundation of our success.”
“How’s it working” I asked.
“You’d be surprised what people are willing to put up with if you’re just honest about your intentions.”
The deacon’s smile grew even bigger. I juked to the right, went left, spun past the front desk, and sprinted back to my car.
